EXCELLENCE IN URBAN ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT RECOGNITION AWARD

Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has received the Excellence in Urban Environmental Management Recognition award.
This recognition is given as a result of the success of initiatives towards waste management namely:
1. The Drive-Through Drive to Save Recycling Program which is carried out periodically (monthly) involves the collection of used cooking oil and recycled goods.
2. Drive-thru Recycle Booth initiative in conjunction with World River Day Week which also offers a buy-back program (public buy-back).
This award was presented by Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Azhar bin Abd. Hamid, Director General of the National Solid Waste Management Department (JPSPN) and the award was received by Encik Shahrulizam bin Abdul Rashid, Deputy Secretary of MBIP.
Mbip's continuous efforts in improving the effectiveness of the waste management system through an environmentally friendly approach, technological innovation, as well as community cooperation can ensure the cleanliness and sustainability of the city.
This award is also in line with the government's aspirations to strengthen the country's solid waste management through sustainability policies and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
