RECOGNITION TO CIVIL SERVANTS WHO REPORT GIVING OR RECEIVING BRIBES AT ISKANDAR PUTERI CITY COUNCIL

This recognition initiative for civil servants was introduced in line with the efforts and commitment to fight corruption crimes as stipulated in the country's key achievement areas (NKRA), where the government has agreed to give recognition to Civil Servants who report giving or receiving bribes. The implementation mechanism of this recognition has been made through “Guidelines for Recognition of Civil Servants Who Report Giving or Accepting Bribery” which was signed by the Chief Secretary of State on 11 May 2011.
Two enforcement members of the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) namely Mr. Syed Hanif bin Syed Nasir and Mr. Syamsuddin bin Ab Rahman have been given recognition in the form of reward payments and Certificates of Appreciation from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) and MBIP for having reported cases of giving bribes and giving full cooperation until the case is convicted. The Certificate of Appreciation was presented by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Haji Azmi bin Haji Alias, Johor State MACC Director witnessed by YBhg. Tuan Haji Ahmad Nazir bin Haji Mohd Nasir, Mayor of MBIP and Tuan Haji Emrizal bin Abdul Rahman, Director of MBIP Integrity.
The granting of this recognition proves that MBIP is committed to fostering a culture of integrity, transparency and accountability among MBIP staff to reject corruption, abuse of power and all forms of unethical practices.
