Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has conducted a technical visit to KL Digital Madani Library and ESG Center under the supervision of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to deepen digital library services and understand the role of ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) in sustainable development.
The delegation of this visit was led by YM Ungku Suzana binti Ungku Ahmad, MBIP Secretary, accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Kamalruzaman bin Isa, MBIP Council Member, Mr. Shahrulizam bin Abdul Rashid, MBIP Deputy Secretary, as well as 14 MBIP employees.
The visit started with a presentation by Encik Shaharizad bin Adanan, Senior Librarian, Services Section, Kuala Lumpur Library which explained about library services, facilities provided, as well as a list of digital applications that support access to modern learning and ended with a question and answer session.
The MBIP delegation was also taken to visit the various facilities provided, including a multimedia room, discussion room, computer room, reading room, children's room, internet room, as well as a cafeteria that makes this library a conducive and user-friendly learning center.
The visit continued with a visit to the ESG Centre, where the MBIP delegation had the opportunity to attend a walkabout session at the ESG Gallery. Throughout the visit, Tuan Haji Ismail bin Haji Abdullah, President of IGTC, gave a comprehensive explanation on the concept and establishment of the ESG Centre, the ESG Agenda, the application of ESG principles in various sectors, as well as the importance of ESG Materiality in strategic planning.
Mbip expresses its highest appreciation and thanks to DBKL for being willing to accept the visit of the MBIP delegation to the KL Digital Madani Library and ESG Center and share knowledge and experience related to digital libraries and the role of ESG in sustainable development.
