The Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has visited the flood hotspot area to review the current situation and find the best solution in dealing with the flood issue that often plagues the area.
This field trip session was attended by YB Dato’ Haji Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, Chairman of the Housing & Local Government Committee; YB Marina Ibrahim, Skudai assemblyman; Blessed Mr. Hj. Ahmad Nazir bin Hj. Mohd Nasir, Mayor of MBIP; Sangrapandian A/L Velliappan, Councilor Zone 17: Skudai; and Chuah Lee Hui, Councilor Zone 20: Tun Aminah. Also present were the directors of the MBIP department as well as representatives from SWCorp and the Johor Bahru District Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS).
This visit aims to identify the main cause of the flood as well as discuss solution measures to reduce the impact on the surrounding population. MBIP is committed to ensuring the well-being and safety of the community by taking more proactive actions in dealing with this issue.
Appreciation is given to all parties involved as well as the local community who also cooperated in dealing with the flood problem. Hopefully this initiative can benefit the community and improve the well-being of the people in the Skudai area.
